1. catalepsy; say, liggja í dai or sem í dái, to lie motionless, without stirring a limb and without feeling pain; hann vissi þá ekki til sin longum, ok þúui þá sem hann lægi í dái, i. 336, ii. 235: falla í da, to fall into a senseless state, i. 451.2. it is medic, used of the relieving swoon, like the sleep which follows after strong paroxysms, ix. 204; it is different from aungvit (swoon) or brotfall (epilepsy).
