Fimtardómr
nafnorðkarlkynFimtar-dómr
the Fifth High Court in the Commonwealth, vide dómr, Þ. Þ., ; the form of the word is irregular, as it means the Fifth Court (added to the four Quarter Courts) = dómr hinn fimmti, as it is also called in Þ. Þ. 24 ; the old law term fimt seems to have floated before the mind of the founders, as fimtar-dómr etymologically answers to femt, a court before which one has to appear a ‘fimt’ from the citation.
